While trailing at the Marble Canyon, you will pass small bridges. Each of them will add more to those breathtaking views while crossing those precipitous drops, which can sometimes be as long as 40 metres or more. The surprising fact is they are the results of limestone erosion along Tokumm Creek. The natural stone bridges around will definitely catch your attention if you are a true Geology nerd. It looks beautiful, though!
Once you move on the bridges, you will notice elevation and more views while enjoying your trail around. The biggest surprise lies at the top.

Located in British Columbia, Marble Canyon is a hike with an elevation of 137 ft. Talking about the distance you need to cover in this hike is 0.9 miles, which is not too much! The hike is smooth, and you can cover it in 25 minutes if you are quick. The hike here is 15 metres or less.

How long it takes to Reach Here?

It is a great picnic area and does not take too long to reach here. In summer you might take an hour but during winter the time is shortened to half an hour to reach the top.

The first and foremost trouble everyone thinks of is the parking space, but here, you will find a small car parking area right next to the Banff-Windermere Parkway Highway. Keep moving; without wondering, you will be lost. The first thing you will find here is the beautiful Vermillion River. While you keep moving and enjoying the river bank, you will find Tokumm Creek’s beautiful blue water.

Exactly when you reach the top, you will find a waterfall whose beauty cannot be described with words. Imagine yourself settling in the heavenly views; this waterfall is exactly the same. Truly, one of the hidden gems in BC. Stand at its top and see how the tiny water drops enter the huge hole that is present in the rocks. Sometimes, we feel the water flowing at a speed but can’t see it. Here, the water disappears after a while, but the peaceful sound remains.

Reaching the top has always felt the best, but here, besides feeling succeeded, you are really going to be impressed. The area that surrounds here is going to give those mixed feelings. Lust of green trees in one corner, whereas the grey stumps in some areas, as mentioned above, will leave you with a question mark. Once the most bushy area in the past then turned into ash within a few hours. Though greenery was regained, it raised several questions and thoughts in our minds. It happened in 2003 when a forest fire inhaled everything around. Life can be created after destruction, and the regrowth of life here proves it and truly make it a hidden gems in BC!

Is Marble Canyon worth Visiting?

Imagine being surrounded by the most beautiful view that surrounds grey stump remnants and cliffs. These grey stumps are due to the massive fire in the forest that took place in 2003 and destroyed the greenery of this area at the most. The area is live again, but the residual can still be seen. The place gained life again and has transformed the surrounding landscape into the most beautiful one. Indeed, Marble Canyon is a hidden gems in BC.
